Meeting with Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction senior officials
on Counselling Therapist regulation

Grateful for today’s thoughtful conversation with government partners, and in particular for the opportunity to meet Minister Wilson’s new Chief of Staff, R-Jay Melnichuk. We were also joined by Deputy Minister Evan Romanow and Policy Advisor Jayden Ernst. We appreciated the chance to share perspectives and continue the important conversation about advancing the regulation of counselling therapists in Alberta, while supporting the government’s commitment to improving standards of care in mental health and addiction care, and safeguarding Albertans.

ACTA remains deeply committed to partnering with the Government of Alberta to advance the regulation of counselling therapists. We collaboratively recognize that regulation is an essential step in ensuring Albertans have access to safe, competent, and accountable care in the mental health and addiction system. ACTA continues to dedicate resources, time, and expertise to support the Ministry in bringing regulation to completion, and we look forward to continuing this vital work together.
