About ACTA

The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA) is a voluntary association incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta. ACTA is not a regulatory body under the Health Professions Act (HPA), nor are we a professional association that works on behalf of the profession. Rather, ACTA is a transitional, precursor organization whose primary mandate is to work collaboratively with the Government of Alberta to achieve regulation of counselling professions under the HPA.

Our focus and mandate are firmly on public protection and the establishment of professional regulation for the benefit of all Albertans.
